How can I Know my PC is Infected with Virus

Posted by John Larkin - March 6, 2014

It is well-known that technology becomes more and more advanced while the Internet is developing faster and faster. PC virus is a group of computer directives or codes that is capable of replicating itself and dropping variants to different computer applications, system folders, data files and even the boot sector of the hard drive. Once the replication accomplishes, the affected part is said to be “infected”. PC virus is becoming a huge problem. It can cause irritation or even damage to the victim. Here are some symptoms stating the PC virus on the system.

First of all, the PC virus will slow down the whole system performance obviously. Usually, PC virus can create a lot of payloads to take up most of the system resources though you do not run many programs at all.
Second, it could become much difficult to connect to the Internet. In most cases, PC virus can shut down the network connection suddenly, especially when you want to access security software websites. Meanwhile, the system DNS settings are probably changed. But dare you think to reset it back as before.
Third, the installed anti-virus or anti-spyware is unable to update. When you try to run the security software or do the updates, nothing happens or alters keep popping up. That is, PC virus has the ability to change system security settings or even delete key system files.
Fourth, some programs like word editing programs can’t be executed. PC virus can change system files randomly to cause such chaos.
Fifth, the system freezes up or crashes out of a sudden. You may encounter blue screen of death, black screen or white screen. All on the desktop will be gone but only a different screen shows up.
Sixth, if you cannot find desired data, files or videos, etc, that means, your computer is probably infected with PC virus. It should be aware that, nasty PC virus like Virus:DOS/Rovnix.T Trojan virus, redirect virus or FBI MoneyPak Ransom virus can monitor the victim’s keystrokes and steal sensitive information that is stored on the computer.
Moreover, if you are able to run Task Manager, you would find many unfamiliar processes are running there. Those unknown processes are possibly dropped by the PC virus.

Once you are encountering any of the above traits, please run the genuine antivirus immediately to check the issue. If the tool can’t run, it should be confirmed that the machine is under attack of PC virus. Do take action to completely get rid of PC virus and protect the system as well as personal data then.

On the other hand, it is highly advised to pay much attention when browsing the web. Clicking suspicious links like unknown pop-up windows, opening e-mail attachments from strangers, or visiting unverified web pages could lead you to the infection of PC virus.
