We can see that the default color of the taskbar in Windows 7 is grey which is classified as Sky. But it’s not the only option of the taskbar color. There are different ways to change it.

Option one- changing taskbar color through Aero Themes

Actually, Windows 7 makes it rather easy and simple to change the color of the taskbar by providing Aero Themes feature. As a beginner, you can accomplish your goal by selecting an aero theme.

Step 1- Click Start menu, then Control Panel

Step 2- Select Appearance and Personalization

Step 3- Click Personalization

Step 4- Scroll down to Aero Themes and select one. You will find the color of the taskbar is changed correspondingly

Step 5- Close the Window

In addition, Window Color settings display many choices for you to set as the color of the taskbar.

Step 1- Right click on the desktop, select Personalize

Step 2- Click on Window Color

Step 3- Choose one of the listed colors you like

Step 4- Click Save changes

The default color of the taskbar in Windows 8 is blue that is not the only choice. Changing the color of your window boarders also alters the color of the taskbar.

Option one- changing border color through Desktop Wallpaper

The default color of the border is blue because of the original background of Windows 8. Windows 8 selects the appropriate color automatically depending on the desktop wallpaper. That is, we can change the border color through making another picture as the desktop background.

Step 1- Right click the desktop, select Personalize

Step 2- Click the Desktop Background option at the bottom of the window

Step 3- Select a new wallpaper from the list. Or you can select one of your own background images by clicking the Browse button and browsing to it. Then the border color will automatically be set as what you want

Step 4- Click Save changes

Color setting allows computer users to set a border color independently from the background color.

Step 1- Move the mouse to the right top corner of the desktop, select Settings in Charms Menu

Step 2- Select Personalization

Step 3- Click the Color option

Step 4- Select one of the predefined colors from this list

Step 5- You can also customize your own color. Click the Show color mixer drop-down option and use the four sliders to customize your desire color

Step 6- Click Save changes
