How to Delete Files Directly and Permanently—Two Methods

We may create or receive a lot of files or folders day by day. When we do not want certain files again, we could delete them by right clicking on the files and select “delete”. However, this will bring your deleted files to the Recycle Bin which will take up some of the system resources. If you do not clean out useless files in the Recycle Bin for a long time, it will affect the whole PC performance to some extent. Some people would like to delete unwanted files directly without going to Recycle Bin. In the following post, we will provide two ways to delete data directly in details.

Option One- Delete Files Directly through Recycle Bin Settings

Recycle Bin is one of the programs in the system. It contains simple settings like other processes.

Step one– Right click on Recycle Bin from the desktop and select Properties

Step two– Tick “Don’t move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted.”

Step three– Click OK to save the changes. Next time you want to delete files permanently, you can do it simply by clicking Delete. You can also reverse the settings by unchecking this option

Option Two- Delete Files Permanently through Shortcuts

Looking at the keyboards, we will see shortcuts like Delete. Generally, keys such as Alt, Ctrl and Shift are used commonly in our Internet life.

Step one– Single click the file you want to delete permanently

Step two– Tap Shift and Delete keys together

Step three– Click Yes then your files or folder will be removed permanently

Actually, it is easy, simple and fast to delete files or folders directly and permanently with the above two ways. On the other hand, it is advisable to delete files and let them go to the Recycle Bin as which allows to recover files deleted accidentally, especially for those computer newbies.
