How to Show All Hidden Files on Windows 8

Usually hidden files are invisible by default, which may satisfy many users. In this case, you are unable to see them on your system. However, sometimes you may want to make them visible so as to delete or use them. For this reason, the following guide will do you a favor to show all hidden files and folders. Now please follow this guide and make those hidden files visible again.

How to show hidden files step by step

Solution 1

To show part of the hidden files which are not related to system files, you can follow this guide below:

Step 1: go to the Start Screen and double-click on Windows Explorer

Step 2: When you come into Libraries, click View tab

Step 3: Look up to the right up corner, you will see “File name extensions” and “Hidden items”, uncheck these two boxes.

Step 4: close this libraries window and you will find that part of hidden files are shown.

Solution 2

You can follow this tutorial below if you want to see all system files

Step 1: Go to the Desktop, and double-click on Control Panel

Step 2: Open Appearance and Personalization


Step 3: Double-click on Folder Options

Step 4: Go to View tab

Step 5: tick Show hidden files, folders, and drives which is under Hidden files and folders

Step 6: click OK to save the changes and you will see all system files on your PC

Note: If you want to hide all system files again you can go to step 5 and tick “Don’t show hidden files, folders, or drives”, by then you will be able to hide those files again.
