Step by Step to Reset Internet Explorer to Default Settings

When your IE does not work or works improperly, resetting it is a best choice to solve the problem. Commonly, if your Internet Explorer is attacked by an adware or browser hijacker virus, this way can help you fix the issues that are caused by viruses. But before you perform this procedure, you should know that the moment you finish this, your current settings will be lost, as well as other savings.

Instruction to reset IE settings

Solution 1

Step 1: launch the Internet Explorer by double-clicking the shortcut of this program

Step 2: click Tools

Step 3: on the dropped list, click Internet Options

Step 4: go to Advanced tab

Step 5: click “Reset…” button which is in the Reset Internet Explorer settings section

Step 6: click Reset to perform the task and close the dialog when it is done

Solution 2

Step 1: Click Start Menu and click Control Panel

Step 2: select view by category and click on Network and Internet

Step 3: click Internet Options

Step 4: navigate to Advanced tab

Step 5: click Reset… and click Reset again after a dialog pops up

Note: once you reset the Internet Explorer to the default settings, all data that you have saved will lost, so you should backup all data that are necessary for you before you reset the Internet Explorer.
